I met the Blue Deer, Kauyumari, in the quiet of a peyote ceremony,
where wonder wrapped itself around me like a forgotten childhood dream.
He leapt and danced, carrying colors with a delicate joy,
whispering that life, too, is play, magic, and mystery.
Guiding me through visions, his spirit reminded me—
we are guardians of Earth, connected to the sun, the rain,
to flowers blooming in sacred ceremony, and the fire’s warmth.
In his presence, I felt hope return,
the wonder of nature stirring in my heart again—
to see the world not with the eyes of knowing, but of awe,
as children do, forever open to possibility.
Kauyumari leads us home to our essence,
where each ending is simply a new beginning.
